Visit the Centres of History of the Faroe Islands and its people on this Small Group Tour (1-18 passengers)

On this full day Small Group Tour (1-18 passengers) you will begin by taking a bus ride to the island of Sandoy through the newest and longest sub-sea tunnel in the Faroes.

There you will see the 19th Century Church in Sandur, walk through the old village of Húsavík, visit the picturesque isolated village of Dalur, visit the site of a late 19th Century shipwreck and a spot of magic.

From there you will drive back to the beautiful old village of Kirkjubøur (Church’s Field). Here you will visit the oldest church still in use in the Faroes, the over 900 year old Ólavs church  Next is the ruins of the 14th Century St.Magnus Cathedral, the site and reason for the second Civil War in the Faroes. This magnificent old structure is an Unesco World Heritage Site. Finishing the visit in the 950+ years old farmhouse, the Roykstova. This farm is the home of the Patursson family, currently headed by the 17th generation of the family running this farm.

Returning from Kirkjubø you will have the optional extra of joining a Guided Hiking Tour across the mountain and back to Tórshavn.
